this is an odd still life, I can’t quite tell if these are actually three apples and 4 slices of bread, or if you somehow duplicated/layered a single apple and single slice of bread together…the holes in the bread suggest that I might be right, but then again…is bread actually like that? Compelling image.

i like that you wasn’t going for the obvious, that you didn’t use a white backdrop. this way the shot *really* comes to life. and that green – brown – black color palette is especially hot. great shot, again.

chris: this is a straight shot of three apples and four slices of whole bread. no digital manipulation was involved whatsoever.
s p a n k: the lighting was fairly easy to set up – i only used a lamp to direct light into the subject as well as the ambient light of the room.
